The 1st Bournemouth Boys' Brigade

The 1st Bournemouth Company has been an active part of Christian youth work in the Bournemouth area for well over 100 years. We have both a strong vision for the future and a pride in our past.

To get you up to speed, here are some key facts about our Company:

1st Bournemouth at a glance

  1. So far this year we have enjoyed around 250 events and activities
  2. In March 2007 we celebrated our 113th birthday
  3. In 1907 we helped start the first ever Boy Scout camp on Brownsea Island, sending 7 of our boys
  4. We enjoy a range of activities including Adventure, Community, Leadership, Interests and Sport
  5. Our Company is one of four BB Companies in the Bournemouth area

There are four different age groups:

Anchor Boys
Boys aged 5 - 8 years, meeting Mondays 6:45 - 8:00 (along with Juniors)

Juniors
Boys aged 8 - 11 years, meeting Mondays 6:45 - 8:15

Company & Seniors
Boys aged 11 - 19 years, meeting Thursdays 7:30 - 9:30 and Fridays 7:30 - 10:00

What is the Boys' Brigade?

The Boys' Brigade (BB) is a Christian Youth Organisation, with over half a million members world-wide. The BB offers a wide range of activities including Games, Crafts, Sports, Christian Teaching, Music and Holidays.
