NCO's (Non Commissioned Officers) assist with the day to day running of the Company and Senior Sections. There are different ranks of NCO: In order, Lance-Corporal, Corporal, Sergeant and Staff-Sergeant - where a Staff-Sergeant is the most senior
An NCOs rank is shown by the number of stripes on their arm. A strip is a single chevron worn on the right arm-band:
|
Lance-Corporal |
One stripe, pointing downwards |
|
Corporal |
Two stripes, pointing downwards |
|
Sergeant |
Three stripes, pointing downwards |
|
Staff-Sergeant |
Four stripes, pointing upwards |
Being promoted as an NCO is an important step. Promotions are not based upon age, but are based on factors such as a members level of commitment, their past record and their attendance. Being promoted is not the end - it is a sign that the Company Officers can see even further potential.
